Few IR thermometer units incorporate selectable emissivity. This means
that this unit can be used with a broader range of targets, including
heat producing machinery, HVAC equipment, ovens, as well as the regular
range of food product applications, especially deep frozen foods.

Like our other IR models, the IR-Temp™ has laser sighting. The
targeting is an unusually narrow 10:1 ratio cone, giving very precise
targeting with the single dot laser target indication (useful for longer
range readings up to 10 feet).
We issue a three point calibration based on readings obtained from
target surfaces with precisely controlled temperature and emissivity.
This procedure is based on N.I.S.T. traceable sources, and can be
important for use of an IR thermometer in HACCP and other regulated
programs. A notice of calibration data is included with each IR-Temp™.
