Here is a breakthrough that the food industry has been
waiting for. Most managers appreciate the speed and efficiency
of non-contact temperature surveillance using IR thermometers, but
realize that cross calibration is necessary for reliable data.
IR thermometers take only the "skin" temperature, but
that temperature always has a predicable relationship with the core
temperature. To get good calibration on an IR survey, you have
to take along a digital thermometer with a penetration probe and
"cross index" the probe data with the IR scan data. It
can be really
cumbersome and time consuming.
Now you can do both within one instrument...the long distance dual
function unit
is a combined laser sighted IR thermometer and
high accuracy thermocouple thermometer. Both tools are in one
package.
Plus, with the 16:1 ratio, you can scan a target
from across a room and get a tight target reading. To
facilitate long distance spot reading, the laser dot is extra
bright.
